    • Drawer: Fruit & vegetables
    • Door: Sauces, drinks (warmest part)

    Raw food should always be stored below cooked food.

     

  • In the United Kingdom:

    • Eggs are not washed after laying.
    • The natural protective coating (cuticle) remains intact.
    • Washing (common in the United States) removes this layer, requiring refrigeration.

    UK guidance: keep eggs in a cool, dry place, ideally in their box, and avoid temperature fluctuations.

     

  • General guidance for high-risk food:

    • Maximum 2 hours at room temperature
    • In hot weather (>30°C), reduce to 1 hour

    After that, bacteria can multiply rapidly.
